Bringing The Lowcountry to Life: Emily Daws Fabrics Featured in the 2024 Southern Living Idea House

I am beyond excited to share that many of our fabrics can be found in the the interiors of the 2024 Southern Living Idea House. This year, the stunning home is located on Johns Island, nestled along the serene marshes of Kiawah River—a setting that perfectly captures the beauty and essence of the Lowcountry.

I had the pleasure of working alongside the team at Allison Elebash Interiors, who carefully curated a selection of local and regional artists to help tell the story of the Southern Living Idea House. I’m so honored to be part of this amazing project and to contribute my fabrics to the design. The attention to detail and commitment to featuring local craftsmanship speaks volumes about the level of thought and care that has gone into this home.

The 2024 Idea House is nothing short of a dream. The design seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living, with nearly every room featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interiors with natural light and showcase breathtaking views. With over 4,379 square feet of interior living space and an additional 1,079 square feet of covered outdoor spaces, this home was made for enjoying the beauty of Johns Island in every season.

From the expansive back porch to the cozy, A-frame screened outdoor living room—complete with a fireplace for cooler evenings—this home embodies the spirit of Southern hospitality and year-round living. Every room was thoughtfully curated to feel welcoming, comfortable, and connected to nature, and it’s truly an honor to see my fabrics help bring this vision to life.
